I Saw This Mask in Kourt's Bathroom, and Now I'm Obsessed

Aug 22, 2023

Spotted on Kourt’s bathroom counter: Protective Nourishment Pumpkin Peel.

One whiff and the Poosh Team—myself included—was hooked (it smells good enough to eat, but please don’t).

This all-in-one, renewing treatment is made with pure pumpkin extract, enzymes, and concentrated levels of vitamins A and C for buttery soft skin. And with a powerhouse combination of 5% glycolic acid and pumpkin alpha hydroxy acid, you can say goodbye to dull, dead skin, too.

I am normally hesitant to use peels because they tend to irritate my sensitive, acne-prone skin, but this has become a staple in my weekly skincare lineup. It’s actually recommended for acne-prone skin (as well as normal and oily types).

I use this once to twice a week (after cleansing my face) as an extra exfoliant when my skin is feeling dull, dry, and flaky. I also find that it helps with acne. I carefully apply my Protective Nourishment Pumpkin Peel with a silicone face mask applicator, avoiding my eye area.

Pro tip: Patch test before using if you have sensitive skin.

Like most peels, this does get a little bit *spicy,* so a handheld fan is recommended if you are highly sensitive.

For me, I am a true multi-tasker, so I like to apply before hopping in the shower, giving myself time to shave my legs, or do a hair mask. When 10 minutes have passed, I gently remove the mask with an extra-soft washcloth and rinse with cold or lukewarm water. After a thorough towel dry, I apply a rich, thick moisturizer and tada! Hello, juicy, soft skin.
